About the journal
A bridge between two regions, published online.
Europe Asia Quarterly is an English-language journal on the economic, business and policy ties between Europe and Asia, published in Zurich by Singularity Academy.
Mission
Europe and Asia are each other’s largest partners in trade, investment and ideas. The relationship is also changing quickly, and good decisions need a clear, documented record of what actually happened.
Each issue of Europe Asia Quarterly covers one quarter as a single continuous period. It is arranged so that a reader can move from what happened to what it means: first the record of the quarter, then its chronology, the economic results country by country and region by region, an integrated reading of the two regions, an argued analysis, commentary, a signed opinion, and the editor’s closing words.
Readership
Written for everyone with a stake in how Europe and Asia relate to each other.
History
Europe Asia Quarterly follows the former monthly publication ASIA BRIEF (ISSN 3043-2316), which Singularity Academy published and SwissCham ASIA circulated from September 2024 to June 2026. Asia Brief gave Swiss–Asian business stakeholders a regular view of Asia’s economic and business environment, in English and Chinese, with an audio podcast edition.
Encouraged by readers’ response, it was succeeded by Europe Asia Quarterly in September 2026, covering the whole Europe–Asia relationship. ISSN 3043-2316 identifies Asia Brief only and is not transferred to the present journal.

Singularity Academy is a learning and research institution based in Zurich. It works through education, research and wellbeing, with activity in Switzerland, Germany and the Netherlands, and its research connects questions of sustainability, society, business, economics and culture with institutions and professional communities in Europe and Asia. The Academy also publishes Singularity Academy Frontier Review, a separate journal of academic and practical work.
Partners support distribution and circulation and may contribute signed material. Editorial responsibility remains with Singularity Academy unless a signed co-publishing arrangement provides otherwise. See guidelines for authors.
Editorial standard
Six lenses
Each quarter is recorded under six lenses, so that it is not reduced to a single domain:
Events are selected for cross-border impact, institutional significance, scale, durability of effect, and relevance to readers who must act across both regions.
Record, analysis, opinion
Three kinds of statement are kept apart, and each is labelled. A record states what a source reported. An analysis states what follows from those reports, and names them. An opinion is the author’s, and is not a finding of the journal. Where two governments describe one meeting differently, both descriptions are given. Where a figure is a forecast, a proposal, or a count still being revised, the text says so.
Sources
Every record entry rests on at least one identified source, with a primary document preferred: institutional declarations, statistical releases, central-bank decisions, legal texts and official readouts. Secondary reporting is identified as such. Interpretive material from policy publications and research institutions is cited as interpretation, attributed, and never relied on as evidence of fact. Each issue carries numbered notes and a companion source ledger.
Timing
Each issue states a research cutoff; nothing published after it is admitted or estimated. For economic statistics, each issue analyses the previous quarter, the latest for which official accounts have been published. A comparison is made only within a single definition.
